President Trump Calls Out ‘Alt-Left’ – Generates Outrage

New York City, NY – President Donald Trump gave a speech about infrastructure on Tuesday, which was quickly derailed by reporters into discussing the terrorist attack in Charlottesville.

The president responded to accusations that he didn’t denounce the attack in Charlottesville strongly enough or soon enough. He then shifted to addressing the issue that the media is ignoring: the violence from the counter-protesters.

“I think there is blame on both sides,” President Trump said.

“What about the alt-left that came charging at, as you say, the alt-right, do they have any semblance of guilt?” He said. “What about the fact they came charging with clubs in hands, swinging clubs, do they have any problem, I think they do.

“You had a group on one side that was bad and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. nobody wants to say it, but I will say it right now. You had a group on the other side that came charging in without a permit and they were very, very violent.”

The conversation then devolved into discussion about removing monuments. President Trump suggested that the violent left would go after George Washington and Thomas Jefferson next, because they were slave owners.

After condemning the violence from the white nationalist groups, the president should have stopped. Instead, in an apparent effort to convince the media of the violence from the left, the president offered some defense for people who showed up to peacefully protest the statue removal while standing next to hate groups.

Now, rather than convince people of the danger from violent groups like Antifa, President Trump just gave his detractors all the ammo they need to attack him for the next month. The focus of the conversation is now on his defense of monument protesters on the “side” of the white supremacists.

Everybody is now losing their minds over his comments, and everybody is ignoring Antifa.

Even after the president’s comments, it’s astonishing that they all refuse to acknowledge the existence of violent left-wing extremists. No matter how extreme these violent leftists get, nobody wants to acknowledge their existence.
