Tuscon PD Had Two Officers Shot During Gun Battle

Tucson, AZ – Two Tucson Police Department Officers were shot earlier this morning during a gunfight with a suspect at the Campbell Terrace Apartments.

One officer is in surgery, in serious condition, after being transported to Banner University Medical Center.  The second officer was also transported to Banner University MC and is in stable condition.  The suspect was shot and killed during the exchange of gunfire.

According to news sources, the intersection of Campbell and Benson Highway has been shut down by police.  The Tucson Police Department Officers were conducting an investigation at the apartment complex when the shootings occurred.  Many law enforcement agencies have responded to the area and the investigation is ongoing.  The names of the involved Tucson PD Officers and the suspect have not yet been released.

This is the third situation since late October, 2016 involving a Tucson Police Department Officer being shot.  That Officer was not seriously injured and the suspect was shot and wounded in the incident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the two injured Tucson PD Officers, their families, their blue family, and the city of Tucson.
