Video Of Fiery Crash As Police Confront Killer, Robert Crumb

Brooklyn, New York – A man stabbed his wife and daughter, fled from police, and ended up in a fiery crash. He then fought with several officers after the wreck.

At around 12:30 A.M. Friday night, New York 911 received a call from a 12-year-old boy related to a domestic disturbance. Police were dispatched to a Bethpage residence on Seitz Drive and found the little boy’s mother stabbed to death.

44-year-old Robert Crumb stabbed his wife to death in their bedroom. It appears that he then tried to kill his 16-year-old daughter, who had multiple stab defensive stab wound on her arms and hands. The 12-year old boy was physically unharmed during the incident.

Crumb fled the scene and police chased after him. Crumb led officers on a 25 mile long high speed chase all the way into Brooklyn. In the video below, you can see the high speed pursuit end when Crumb drives his car through a gas pump and hits another car.

It was not over yet though. As Crumb’s car bursts into flames, he climbs out of the passenger door of his vehicle and rushes the officer on scene. The officer has his gun drawn on Crumb, but does not fire as Crumb aggressively advances. The officer falls down and fights with Crumb for a few moments before several other officers jump in and help.

One police officer was hospitalized for smoke inhalation and another for injuring his wrist. Crumb was hospitalized for a self inflicted stab wound.
