President Donald Trump Hosts Law Enforcement And First Responders At Reception

President Donald Trump hosted a Law Enforcement and First Responders Reception.
The Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders Reception
Washington, DC – President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence honored law enforcement Sunday afternoon, as he hosted the Inaugural Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders Reception at the White House.
According to Fox News, the reception took place in the Blue Room of the White House. It follows in the wake of Friday’s Inauguration and the renewed commitment to law enforcement from President Trump and his administration. The reception was in honor of law enforcement officers and first responders who assisted with the Inauguration. No irony here – I’m sure the Blue Room was chosen intentionally as President Trump has made it a point to support law enforcement throughout his campaign.
President Trump said his swearing-in was “such a success and such a safety success and we want to thank you all.” What a refreshing change from the previous administration who accused law enforcement of widespread racism! I can’t recall any previous president honoring law enforcement in such a fashion.

On Friday, January 20, 2017, after the Inauguration, many aspects of the White House web site were changed. One was an announcement in support of law enforcement, entitled Standing Up For Our Law Enforcement Community.
The President also said during his Inauguration speech on Friday about our nation being protected by the “great men and women of our military and law enforcement.”
FBI Director James Comey was surprised when he was also recognized by the President during Sunday’s reception. He was in the audience and came up to the President when acknowledged, shook hands and gave him a hug.
Thank you, President Trump, for your support of law enforcement and first responders. We are grateful. It has been several years since we saw such a public display of support from a President and his administration. We are looking forward to the future working with you to make America safe again.
