Deaths Of Fort Hood Solders Under Investigation

Fort Hood, Texas – Police and army investigators are looking into the mysterious deaths of 11 Fort Hood soldiers. The soldiers all died within a three month time span.

Sgt. Alex Mathew Dean Taylor, 23, is the latest soldier to die in the U.S. since October 12, 2016. He was found unresponsive at his post on Wednesday.

The Army’s Criminal Investigations Command spokesman Christopher Grey told Stars and Stripes, “At this point in the investigative process we do not suspect foul play, but have not completely ruled it out while we conduct a complete and thorough death investigation.”

In addition to Sgt. Taylor, three other soldiers were found unresponsive and died at Fort Hood during the last three months. Three other soldiers were shot and killed in separate incidents in the U.S.

One soldier, Pvt. Dakota Lee Stump, was reported missing October 10th. Stump’s body was later found by soldiers conducting land navigation training 100 yards from the road next to his flipped vehicle.

Two other soldiers died of undisclosed illnesses and two more died in auto collisions.

The Army is handling the investigation of all on-base deaths while local police departments are handling the off-base deaths.
