Parents Blame Black Lives Matter For Sons Trying To Murder Officers.

We already covered how on Friday, two teens tried to assassinate four Pennsylvania police officers. Now, parents of each of those teens is blaming Black Lives Matter for inspiring the attack.

The mother of one of the teens sent a statement to the media:

“They are in jail for doing what Black Lives Matter wanted them to do: shoot at cops,” Luz Rentas wrote. “The truth is that these are two punk kids following the orders of an irresponsible organization and now they’re gonna pay for it.”

Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman provided this account of the initial incident:

At 3:25 a.m. on Friday, a Columbia Borough police officer responded to call about shots being fired on Bethel Street near Locust Street. Then, he started to take fire.

Next, a West Hempfield Township police officer got there, and felt like he was being attacked. That happened to other first responders, too.

The shots were fired intermittently in bursts until 4:10 a.m.

Four members of law enforcement were shot at: Columbia Borough police Officer Brent Smith; East Hempfield Township police Officer Chad Nagle; and West Hempfield Township police Sgt. Tim Coyle and Officer Michael Murray.

None of the officers were injured.

Officers were able to identify Marquell Rentas, 17, and Trenton Nace, 18 as the suspects. Police took both into custody, and Rentas admitted to shooting a .22 caliber rifle at officers; Nace admitted to handing Rentas bullets and collecting shell casings.

Rentas explicitly told the officers, “I was shooting at you. F— the police!”

Roberto Rentas, the father of Trenton Nace, said that he knows some of the officers that his son tried to kill. Rentas also blames Black Lives Matter’s hate speech for converting his son to act violently.

Rentas and Nace are being held in the Lancaster County Prison on $2 million bail each.

Black Lives Matter is getting more extreme by the day. While they generally don’t explicitly endorse violence against law enforcement, they convince impressionable young black men that the police want to kill them because of their skin color. This hateful rhetoric results in young men who want to fight back against the people who they think want to harm them. As long as people continue to endorse the false narrative of Black Lives Matter, attacks like this are sure to happen again.
