Papa Roach’s New ‘American Dreams’ Video Features American Blue Line Flag

The music band Papa Roach has released the new music video for the song American Dreams in which they show support for the thin blue line.

In the latest music video, Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix can be seen carrying and waving around the American Thin Blue Line flag and American Flag.

The new song is based on Shaddix’s resentment of American politics, according to The Ringer.

He told The Ringer, “And so the track, it deals with a lot of just American issues. Street crime. Hate crimes. War. The effects of war on people, on family. And through all of it, it just seems like a bunch of smoke and mirrors and lies that we’re trying to sift through to find the truth.”

The lyrics follow Papa Roach’s musical style and go:

Something’s wrong here
Or so it seems
‘Cause I’m not sleeping in
American Dreams
American lies
We’re trying to see through the smoke in our eyes
So give me the truth
Don’t tell me your lies
‘Cause it’s harder to breathe
When you’re buried alive
By American Dreams

Papa Roach’s style has been described as anything between, alternative metal, alternative rock, hard rock, nu metal, and rap metal. Shaddix said in an interview, “We’re a band that tries to walk that line between metal, hardcore, punk rock and pop music, and we do our best at trying to make it all cool”
