Orlando Mass Shooting
Orlando, FL – Multiple fatalities have been confirmed from an Orlando mass shooting shooting that occurred on Monday morning, June 5, at a business in an industrial park area, according to The Orlando Sentinel.
In a social media post, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said “OCSO working shooting scene that has stabilized. Multiple fatalities. Situation contained. Sheriff will brief as soon as info is accurate.”
The incident occurred on North Forsyth Road near Hanging Moss Road. According to the Sheriff’s Office, there is not currently an active shooter.
Roads in the area have been closed, including Forsyth Road between University and State Road 50.
The Sheriff’s Office said that the scene is “contained and stable,” and described the scene as “a tragic incident.” There is no threat to the community.
UPDATE: The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has announced this shooting was committed by a disgruntled former employee and is a case of workplace violence, not terrorism.
6 people are dead after the shooter shot 5 of his former coworkers and then turned his gun on himself. Four men and one woman are among the victims.
The suspect was a 45 year old male who had been fired from the company, Fiamma Inc., in April. The company makes accessories for recreational vehicles.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all of the victims.
