A New York City police union is taking the offensive against the prosecutor who charged one of their own with murder for shooting a woman who charged him while wielding a bat. (Video below)

The NYPD sergeants’ union released of highly critical video of Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark. It’s one of four videos the union has released since Clark charged Sergeant Hugh Barry with murder.

Police said Sergeant Barry shot and killed Deborah Danner, who was mentally ill, after he talked her into dropping a pair of scissors.

Danner then picked up a bat and tried to swing at the officer, according to the New York Times.

Sergeant Barry was charged with second-degree murder, first-and-second degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide and was suspended without pay, according to the New York Times.

A GoFundMe account raised over $127,000 for Sergeant Barry in a month.

The three-minute video calls the DA’s decision to charge Sergeant Barry with murder “the latest betrayal of public trust.”

“By any standard of measure, Sergeant Barry not only did not break the law, he followed the NYPD protocol to a T,” the video stated.

The video states that neighbors of Danner had complained about the woman for years. The New York Post reported that Danner was a schizophrenic.

The video asks, “So, what’s going on here?”

The police union also claims DA Clark has an agenda “and it has nothing to do with any semblance of jurisprudence.”

The three earlier videos released by the police union focused on Police Commissioner James O’Neill for saying, “We failed” about the shooting.

The NY Post reported that a doctored image of O’Neill was superimposed on a generic image of a bat-wielding man and used for target practice at the firing range.

Ed Mullins, who leads the NYPD’s Sergeants Benevolent Association, told the New York Post that he thinks O’Neill’s comment has impacted the jury pool set for Barry’s case in the Bronx.
