Lamel Yancy Forces 3-Year-Old To Smoke Marijuana

A North Little Rock, Arkansas man was observed forcing a 3-year-old to smoke marijuana in an online video.  Lamel Yancy, the uncle of the 3-year-old boy, has been arrested.

Lamel Yancy posted the video of him forcing his nephew to smoke marijuana to Facebook. By the time investigators first informed of the video, it had already reached 140,000 views.

“The child holds this like someone would be smoking so it makes you think this is not the first time this child has been exposed to this,” Sgt. Brian Dedrick with the North Little Rock Police Department stated during an interview.

The video was found by an off-duty police officer who was conducting an investigation of a burglary that he believed Lamel Yancy was involved in. “I was disturbed appalled by what I had seen,” said Sgt. Brian Dedrick.

Throughout the video, you can hear Lamel Yancy refer to the marijuana as weed. Unfortunately, so does his 3-year-old nephew. The original video was 11 minutes long. An 11 minute video of a 17-year-old teaching a 3-year-old still in diapers how to smoke marijuana in a vehicle. The little boy was unrestrained within the back seat of the vehicle. It appeared as if the vehicle was moving at one point during the video. The 3-year-old can be heard coughing from inhaling the smoke while Yancy jokingly makes fun of him for it.

The boys mother was also believed to be present during the incident. During one point, you can hear her saying, “don’t let him have that.”, yet she does nothing further to stop it from occurring.

The boy was taken into custody by the Department of Human Services but was later given to his grandmother who has full custody.

Lamel Yancy is being charged as an adult for endangering the welfare of a minor. He’s being held at the Pulaski County jail on a $2,500 bond, an amount far too low for his crime.
