ISIS Planning to Kidnap Police Officers

There has been a new warning issued about Islamic State terrorists planning to kidnap police officers. It’s not clear if ISIS hopes to gain the support of the growing anti-police crowd, or if they just want to kidnap government agents.

Police in Britain have been told to be on alert as they could be targets of Islamic State kidnappers, following the failed abduction of a Royal Air Force serviceman.

The attack occurred on Wednesday, July 20th near the RAF Marham base in Norfolk. The serviceman was out for a run when he was grabbed by a man, who then attempted to drag him towards a dark-colored vehicle.

The Mirror provided the details of the attack.

When the serviceman knocked down the first attacker and an accomplice, carrying a knife, helped him up before both men fled; both subjects were said to be of, “Middle Eastern appearance.” The serviceman was said to have been left, “very, very shaken by his ordeal”.

A spokeswoman for the National Police Chief’s Council said: “Since October 2014 when the threat level to police officers and staff was heightened, we have been regularly reiterating the heightened risk to our workforce and reminding them to stay vigilant and alert to any possible dangers. We are asking them to follow existing policies and good practice. You will see no major changes in the way we continue to police the UK and engage with our communities – our emphasis is on vigilance.

These kidnapping warnings come as counter-terrorist investigators work to avoid a repeat of the murder of soldier Lee Rigby outside his Woolwich barracks in south east London three years ago; Rigby was run down by a vehicle driven by two domestic terrorists, after which they attacked him with knives and a meat cleaver in an attempt to behead him.

Though it may seem far-fetched to think of ISIS (or those they inspire) coming after us here, it’s a very real threat we need to keep in mind.  Along with recent Black Lives Matter inspired terrorist attacks, let’s not forget the kidnapping and murder of Waynesboro Reserve Police Captain Kevin Wayne Quick by Blood gang members back in 2014 (all of the suspects in that case were found guilty back in February).  Let’s keep our eyes open, folks – and our guns loaded.
