Illinois Trooper Shoots At Teenage Carjackers Trying To Run Him Down In Chicago

Chicago – An Illinois State Police trooper shot a 15-year-old punk in a stolen car after the driver of the vehicle tried to run the trooper down.

On Saturday, a group of teens reportedly carjacked somebody at gunpoint. Troopers located the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle drove off, and trooper pursued it until it stopped on the Chinatown feeder ramp. When the troopers approached the vehicle, the driver attempted to run down one of the troopers, prompting him to shoot at the car in defense of his life.

Troopers continued the pursuit until the vehicle again stopped at the intersection of 11th Street and Wabash Avenue in the South Loop. The vehicle’s four occupants fled on foot, and law enforcement was able to catch three of them. The fourth suspect, a 15-year-old punk, was later captured when he showed up at the ER with bullet wounds from the shooting.

The punk’s injuries were not life-threatening. Two weapons were recovered from the scene.

Thankfully, nobody was killed in this incident, and hopefully these punks will be prosecuted successfully for attempting to murder a police officer. Great job to these to the Illinois State Police troopers, and Chicago PD for protecting their community by taking these criminals off of the street.
