Hesperia, CA – Surveillance footage shows an armed carjacker attacking an elderly man outside of a liquor store Sunday night (video below.) The victim was able to gain control of the gun, then he made the mistake of trusting in the suspect’s gun when he went after his attacker.

The incident happened Sunday night at around 7:30 PM at Royal Liquor on Bear Valley Rd, according to FOX 32.

In the surveillance video, you can see the suspect pistol whipping an elderly man. The elderly man was able to wrestle the gun away from his attacker. During the altercation, the employee was able to activate the alarm, summoning police.

After getting his gun taken away by an old man, the suspect got into the victim’s vehicle. The elderly victim, empowered by taking control of the suspect’s weapon, attempted to use the weapon to stop the carjacker.

Unfortunately, the gun turned out to be a BB gun. The carjacker backed up, knocking down the victim, and running over his leg.

The suspect was able to escape in the victim’s vehicle before law enforcement arrived.

Neither the victim’s vehicle or the suspect have been located. The victim’s vehicle is a gray 2009 Nissan Altima, with rear end damage and has not been located at this time. The suspect was described as a Hispanic Male, medium build, with a goatee and glasses.
