A Glimpse Into the Horror in Orlando from View of Victim

Video of the attack in Orlando has been posted online. Forty-nine victims of the Orlando terrorist attack have been identified. One of these victims, Amanda Alvear, was enjoying a night out dancing friends, blowing off the steam from a long week. Throughout her night, she was posting Snap Chats to her friends and family, smiling and dancing happily to Latin music. However, the final video posted to her account, was one straight out of a horror movie. Frightened and confused, gun shots ringing in the background, Amanda whispers into the camera, “shooting” and then the video cuts. These were the final moments in Amanda Alvear’s life. The final moments before she was taken from us by a coward, an Islamic extremest coward.

Forty-nine Americans, people, on US soil, died at the hands of an Islamic extremest. People targeted based off of their sexual preference. These men and women will not be forgotten because we will remember them just as we remember the heroes of law enforcement that selflessly sacrifice their lives. These individuals were victims, but let us remember them as heroes; they were Americans who were proud of who they were and the deserve to be recognized as such.
