Back the Blue 5k is going to be in Gardner, KS on Saturday.

Gardner, Kansas – Back The Blue 5k

Gardner, KS – Back the Blue 5k has partnered with Gardner Police Department to hold a day of family fun which includes a 5k run/walk, K-9 demonstrations, dunk tank with officers, a hydro-blaster game, powerlifting competition, basketball and t-ball inflatable games, and a drunk goggles simulation course where you can drive a golf cart while wearing beer goggles.

Money raised from the event will go to help the newly formed K-9 unit get the training they need as well as the National Canine Association for their training efforts.

Registration is now open for the event at www.backtheblue5k.com or you can register on-site. Registration and check-in will open at 6:30 AM.

The day’s events start at 7:30 AM with the 5K race/walk starting off at 8:00 AM. Between 8:45 AM and 9:00 AM, the one-mile fun run will start.

After the races finish, runners and their families get to participate in the different family-fun activities. Between 10:00 am and 11:30 AM, there will be a power lifting competition (must register for this event), K-9 demonstrations, dunk tank with officers, a hydro-blaster game, basketball and t-ball inflatable games, and a drunk goggles simulation course where you can drive a golf cart while wearing beer goggles and a vendor area.

At 11:30 AM, lunch will be provided for all those who are registered.  Because this is a community and family event, lunch will be provided for those who aren’t registered for only $5. This will include a BBQ sandwich, chips and a drink.

We would love to see the Gardner community and surrounding areas come out to the event and support the Gardner Police Department. Officers will be at the event to meet the members of the community they proudly serve.
