Texas School Shooting – Alpine High School

Brewster County, Texas – A school shooting occurred at Alpine High School in Brewster County Thursday morning.

A female student shot another female student and later killed herself in the high school bathroom. The victim female fled outside to get help, and she has been transported to the hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.

A law enforcement officer was shot in the leg by a Marshall who responded to the shooting. It’s not clear if the injured officer was in plain clothes or why the blue on blue shooting occurred. There is no information on the officer’s condition at this time.

A total of five shots were believed to have been fired in the incident.

“I am currently monitoring the active shooter situation in Alpine,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement. “I have directed my office to offer any measure of support needed to assist the law enforcement officials currently working this case. I wish to extend prayers and sympathy to any victims’ families and their loved ones who have been affected by this senseless act of violence.”

This incident occurred on the day that the Obama administration decided to start pushing to limit police in schools.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured officer and student.
