Breaking News: Dallas Police Officer Shot In Oregon

Dallas, OR – A Dallas Police Officer has been shot in Dallas, Oregon tonight.

According to the Oregon State Police, both the Hero Dallas Police Officer and the suspect were wounded. Their condition has not been released at this time.  Mickey Garus, Dallas City Councilman, said via Twitter that he could not speak of specifics involving this incident but that “the officer is okay and receiving care at a hospital” and “he is expected to be fine.”

The  suspect is believed to be in custody.  The shooting occurred near a Walmart, about 15 miles west of Salem, Oregon.   Multiple law enforcement agencies are at the scene in what police described as “an unfolding situation.”

This is a breaking news story and we will update when further information is available.  The investigation is ongoing.
