Casselberry Police Officer McIntosh And Corporal Phillips Shot During Domestic Disturbance
Two Casselberry Police Officers were shot.

Casselberry, FL – Casselberry Police Officer Ryan McIntosh and Corporal Adam Phillips were shot early Saturday morning.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the incident occurred at about 3:50 AM in the 700 block of Crestview Drive. Casselberry Police Officers had responded to a residence there for a call of a domestic disturbance. The suspect, James Parran, had called 911 and said that he had assaulted his wife, that he was armed, and that he would hurt other people.
When the Casselberry Police Officers arrived, James Parran met them outside with a shotgun pointed at them and fired multiple shots, according to Click Orlando. Four of the five officers who had responded returned fire. Parran was later found dead in the doorway of his home. It is not known if he killed himself or was killed by the Officers.
Pellets from James Parran’s shotgun struck CPD Officer McIntosh and CPD Corporal Phillips. Casselberry Police Chief Larry Krantz said that the two officers’ wounds were minor, and that they had been treated at a local hospital and released He said that his officers “acted admirably when faced with this situation.”
Police Officer Phillips had the worst injuries of the two, with shotgun pellets striking him in the face and arm. His ballistic vest prevented further injuries. The other two Casselberry officers who fired at Parran, but were not injured, were Officer Robert Blackwell and Corporal Robert Judges.
James Parran’s wife left home before the officers arrived. It is not known if she was injured or the extent of her injuries. She is with family, and has been interviewed by police. Fewer than a dozen people were evacuated from the area but have since been allowed to return.
A neighbor said that James Parran, age 65, was a military veteran and that something must have made him crack. At least 100 law enforcement vehicles from the Sanford Police Department, Casselberry Police Department, and Seminole County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist. SWAT was also activated.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting the investigation. Florida Governor Rick Scott thanked the officers for their bravery, and “their courage in the face of danger.”
