VIDEO: Carlos Sierra Learns What Happens When You Get Tased While Running In Handcuffs

Surfside, Florida – Surveillance video shows the moment that a handcuffed suspect got tased while running from the police, and there must be something wrong with me because I can’t stop laughing (video below.)

Early Saturday morning, Surfside police got a call of a man stealing a bike in a condo parking garage located on 95th and Collins, according to CBS Miami. Officers caught the man red-handed, and they took the suspect, Carlos Sierra, 26, into custody.

“Known homeless man with an extensive criminal history, burglary and theft,” said Sgt. Marian Cruz.

After Sierra was handcuffed, officers were walking him out when he suddenly decided to make a run for it.

“I do not know what he thought he was going to get away, already in handcuff. So I think he just took a leap of faith,” Sgt. Marian Cruz said. “This case is definitely a unique one because the building has so many different camera angles that it captured the entire incident.”

The officers chased Sierra into the roadway where one of them hit him with a Taser shot. Video captured the moments that Sierra face-planted in the roadway, unable to catch himself as the Taser incapacitated him.

Sierra is being charged with burglary, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief.

The video below shows the moment of impact as well as his “after” photo from booking.

“The message is don’t run from us,” Cruz told WSVN. “Don’t commit crimes in Surfside, because we’re gonna catch you. Our officers out there looking, and we have no tolerance for crime in our city.”
