Black Lives Matter Calls For End To ‘Nuclear Family,’ Says Kids Belong To Community

Black Lives Matter’s founders are calling to end the nuclear family in favor of the idea that children belong to the community, not their parents.

Most people have their own personal beliefs about what Black Lives Matter means to them. They think that their personal definition for Black Lives Matter is what the organized BLM groups stand for; this is not the case.

Most people believe that Black Lives Matter is just about being anti-police brutality. People are quick to tell us things like BLM isn’t anti-police, or that they don’t have certain political goals. These people do not understand how Blue Lives Matter can be opposed to Black Lives Matter, because they think that means we are pro-brutality. These people are unaware that Black Lives Matter is a political movement with political goals which extend far beyond civil rights, and their opinions on civil rights issues with police are generally based off of false or misinterpreted data.

Black Lives Matter is a well-funded and organized political movement, and one of the goal they state on their website is to abolish the “nuclear family.”

On the official Black Lives Matter website run by the co-founders of BLM, they have laid out their political goals, most of which have little to do with law enforcement. On their Guiding Principles page (see Black villages,) they state, “We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, and especially “our” children to the degree that mothers, parents and children are comfortable.”

This idea isn’t a new one. It’s based in Marxist ideology which many of Black Lives Matter’s positions are based on. Children belong to the community, not their parents, and the community should raise them. Abolishing the nuclear family would remove fathers’ involvement and leave children to be raised in a collective group.

The whole premise behind this idea is ignores the fact that the nuclear family is already gone from many black households. Today, only 34 percent of black children are raised in two-parent households.

It would seem that black parents are already well on their way to abolishing the nuclear family. Children are being raised by their communities, many of which happen to be ridden with gangs and violence. This leads the children down a hopeless path. In a country where the majority of homicides are black male offenders killing black male victims, it seems evident that Black Lives Matter’s strategy of abolishing the nuclear family may actually be at the root of the problem, not the solution.
