East Ridge, TN – Yet again we have another law abiding citizen exercising his right to bear arms and stopping an armed robber. On July 1st the unidentified suspect came into the store wielding a large knife, took cash, cigarettes and while trying to escape attempted to take the female clerk hostage. While trying to exit the store he was confronted by a good samaritan packing heat, who shot and killed this robber.
The customer’s actions drew praise on social media Thursday. According to a preliminary press release by East Ridge police, a man armed with a large-bladed weapon entered the Kangaroo gas station shortly before 2 a.m. and demanded money from the register.
According to police, the armed suspect grabbed a female store clerk, threatened to kill her and forced her to accompany him as he tried to make his getaway.
As the robber exited the store with his female hostage, he was met by an armed customer who had already determined the store was being robbed, according to the news release.
The customer, who has yet to be identified, reportedly fired several shots at the robber, who was fatally struck in the chest.
According to the news release, the customer who fired the gun is not facing charges.

Police officials have denied requests for further comment.
We welcome this man’s actions in a time when people are screaming for more gun control. We all know the bad guys have guns, lets make sure the good guys aren’t hung out to dry. In times as uncertain as these, we need more good people standing up and protecting themselves from those who try to bring harm upon the innocent.
