DEVELOPING: Active Shooter At Fresno Jail, Two Corrections Officers Shot

Fresno, California – An active shooter showed up at the Fresno County Jail lobby on Saturday and started opening fire at corrections officers. Two corrections officers were shot.
Sheriff Margaret Mims has still not released any information about the condition of the two corrections officers who were shot. The suspect was taken into custody. The Sheriff’s office said the following:
“At 8:39 am on Saturday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an active shooter in the main lobby of the Fresno County Jail located at 1225 M Street. Two Sheriff’s employees were injured and taken to the hospital, their conditions are unknown. One suspect has been taken into custody. This remains an ongoing investigation. Additional details will be released throughout the day.”
