UPDATE: Deputy Shot by Rifle While In Police Helicopter

Polk County, Minnesota – Earlier today, a deputy was reportedly shot in the arm by a high-powered rifle while he was flying in a police helicopter. Our sources now tell us that the deputy was hit in the arm by shrapnel after the bullet struck the plexiglass on the helicopter.

The Deputy was taken to the hospital and was reportedly released in good condition.

A suspect was located and arrested, but we still don’t know if this was a randomly target attack at law enforcement, or if they were in the process of pursuing the suspect prior to the shooting.

We will keep you updated as we get more information on this incident. For now, it appears that the suspect has been captured and the deputy will be OK.
