Tomi Lahren’s Show Suspended After Her Comments
The Blaze Suspends Tomi Lahren’s Show
Tomi Lahren’s show has been suspended from The Blaze after Glenn Beck disagreed with her reasoning that limited government and pro-choice can go hand-in-hand.
Washington Post reports that on “The View” on Friday, Tomi Lahren, a supporter of law enforcement and friend of Blue Lives Matter, said that as a supporter of limited government, it would be hypocritical of her to believe that the government should be involved in the choices that women make with their bodies.
Afterwards, Leon Wolf, managing editor at The Blaze, said, “Tomi’s show will not be in production this week.”
Glen Beck, founder of The Blaze and head of his own media empire, addressed Lahren’s comments on his radio show Monday morning saying that it wasn’t Lahren’s position that he had a problem with, but her reasoning.
Beck said that the Constitution speaks of securing “’the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.’ … Well, who are our posterity, if not our unborn children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.”
Glenn Beck has previously hired people with pro-choice views, noting that Amy Holmes supported abortion choice. “So if you’re pro-choice, you can have a job at the Blaze,” Beck said. “I try to hire people who have a different opinion because I believe in being intellectually rigorous.”
“The ideas are what are important. And if you cannot defend the idea, no matter which side you’re on, if you can’t defend the idea, that leads to the second part of the discussion. Which is the people calling for Tomi to be fired,” said Beck.
Tomi Lahren hasn’t said much publicly since the suspension was announced, but she tweeted Monday night, “So I’ve got some ‘me’ time tonight. Anything good on TV?” and “This life can be lonely. Thank you to those-on all sides of the political spectrum-for the support. Agree/disagree, it means the world.”
It makes absolutely no sense that The Blaze would suspend Tomi after disagreeing with her opinion one time, when for the past year and a half, Tomi’s show on The Blaze was based on voicing her opinions.
Whether you agree or not with Tomi Lahren’s stance on abortion, we see no reason to suspend the show of one of the country’s best political commentators. Lahren should continue to do what she does best: say exactly what’s on her mind without having to worry about who might disagree with her.
Blue Lives Matter appreciates Tomi Lahren’s continued support for law enforcement during a time when it’s more politically popular to attack us, and she should be allowed to voice her opinion uncensored.
Please share your support for Tomi and stand up against this censorship.
