The Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders Reception

Washington, DC –  President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence honored law enforcement Sunday afternoon, as he hosted the Inaugural Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders Reception at the White House.

According to Fox News, the reception took place in the Blue Room of the White House.  It follows in the wake of Friday’s Inauguration and the renewed commitment to law enforcement from President Trump and his administration.  The reception was in honor of law enforcement officers and first responders who assisted with the Inauguration.  No irony here – I’m sure the Blue Room was chosen intentionally as President Trump has made it a point to support law enforcement throughout his campaign.

President Trump said his swearing-in was “such a success and such a safety success and we want to thank you all.” What a refreshing change from the previous administration who accused law enforcement of widespread racism!  I can’t recall any previous president honoring law enforcement in such a fashion.

On Friday, January 20, 2017, after the Inauguration, many aspects of the White House web site were changed.  One was an announcement in support of law enforcement, entitled Standing Up For Our Law Enforcement Community.

The President also said during his Inauguration speech on Friday about our nation being protected by the “great men and women of our military and law enforcement.”

FBI Director James Comey was surprised when he was also recognized by the President during Sunday’s reception. He was in the audience and came up to the President when acknowledged, shook hands and gave him a hug.

Thank you, President Trump, for your support of law enforcement and first responders.  We are grateful.  It has been several years since we saw such a public display of support from a President and his administration.  We are looking forward to the future working with you to make America safe again.

Do you think that President Trump is going to turn the war on police around?  Please let us know on our Facebook page or in the comments below.

I am praying that they can.

  • Jeff Brodhead

I believe the first 100 days will shake the (Leftist) crap out of a lot of brainwashed Americans.

    • Lisa Chrisman

God I hope your right, they need it…the stupid snowflakes…

      • Ron

        Let’s start calling them Tampons.

        • Jeff Brodhead

          Why not “Con-dumbs”?

          • kthyb8

Can we start by trying to respect everyone? Mocking those who disagree with you is not the sign of intelligence.

          • Jack Reilly

Just look at how these snowflakes are acting since Trump got elected, crying at every turn, protesting about nothing, and rioting….and that, my friend, will get absolutely nothing accomplished.

          • Yep. About as useful as when you fatheads did the same thing in ’08.

          • candace orr

They should keep doing what they are doing, there will be know more democratic party

          • financial terrorism

            know more? good advice.

          • Chris Wade

Then tell that to the your liberal friends who are the in the streets smashing windows and turning over police cars! That would be a good start huh?

          • Mickey Mouse

Kinda hard to respect someone dressed as a giant vagina or running around in public with f#ck you and f#ck that on a huge sign marching up and down streets.

          • Kinda hard to respect someone rattling off under the misnomer ‘Mickey Mouse’.

          • Ron04

no – no its not. It’s about the message. To impeach the poster is an Alinsky tactic. Stop doing it.

          • rdytogo

            Oh hell, even better HAHAHAHA

        • rdytogo

    • Mickey Mouse

And thats what scares the $hit out of Liberals. The rut shot appeasement is over. Trump is the president of law and order. The president of the law abiding and working people. Obama was the president more of the lazy, the moochers and criminals. And now the working and law abiding has come together and said “enough!”

  • Patty B

I certainly hope he can, our first responders, law enforcement, special forces etc all have dangerous high stress jobs and need support and respect!

  • NewWest 123

It’s a good first step and throughout the campaign, he was very supportive….No matter what you think of him, I think he is pretty straight up with law and order. He and his kids appear to have been taught to respect the law. He doesn’t drink and is dead against drugs. And he definitely doesn’t like people living off the free stuff just because they can…

  • Lynn B

    NOW….. That’s a PRESIDENT !!!! Amen and God Bless !!!

  • Brad Bilger

This is one of the things that I was hoping and praying for. Support for the law enforcement personnel in this country. Someone who will stand for them and recognize them for the sacrifices that they do daily. For far too long, they’ve been totally ignored and vilified by this office. This is a tremendous first step in the right direction..
    Thank you President Trump.

  • Kelly O’Leary

I think he has ended the war on police but started a war on teachers with his nominee, Betsy DeVos.

    • Jeff Brodhead

Not on teachers – on the NEA establishment.

      • Mary McDaniel

I agree the NEA has been given too much power over our kids education and not a whole lot of support for teachers if they did not spiel the progressive agenda.

  • sy212

A 27 year veteran, I love this president. The last one hated us police officers

    • Mary McDaniel

That is true and unfortunately he felt that way about the military too. This is as close to anarchy in our country in my life time, and I lived through some tough stuff in the deep south in the late 50’s and all through the 60’s as a citizen. Thank you for your service.

      • financial terrorism

Tough stuff like the Civil Rights Movement? How do you think it went for the Black people?

  • mindy1

I hope he follows through with this, and gives cops the support they deserve.

  • Bethelbanana

I’ve been a cop for 20 years. Been some rough times lately. It means the world to have some support from the top. Thank you President Trump. Thank you. I don’t expect anything more than my paycheck for doing my job, but it sure is damn nice to know someone appreciates us. We see it, and we know you’re there for us…

    • Mary McDaniel

I have a nephew in law enforcement and a brother in law enforcement. I know exactly what you have been through in the last several years. Thank you for your service both on duty and I also know off duty as well.

    • Robin Champion Wright

A close friend of mine traveled to Washington, DC twice. Once during Bush’s administration and the second he stood on the stage for a fallen brother in blue during Obama’s administration. He said the two were completely different. Bush stopped after the ceremony and shook each one’s hands and spoke to them. Obama walked off the stage and didn’t look back or acknowledge them.

      • Jenny

Wow! Unbelievable. What the hell is that man’s problem with law enforcement ? Ugh!!

        • Ron04

he was always afraid of being sent back to Kenya…..

    • financial terrorism

Would you also like a pension and the right for your labor union to organize? I hope your state has some fair tendencies towards that because the Don has promised the states and bankers a lot less regulation in those regards.

  • 2thelighthouse

Trump has always supported veterans and law enforcement. His recognition now was no surprise at all. I hope our veterans and police finally start getting the respect they deserve!

  • Mary McDaniel

I am sure that if Trump could have, he would have invited every single law enforcement person in the United States to the celebration and gratitude get together. It is just another reason I voted for him. He is not perfect but he is closer than any one since Ronald Reagan.

  • duder1897

We have a man in the White House for the first time in a long time.

  • Jack Reilly

It’s about time……the last Administration did absolutely nothing for Police and Civilian relations, except – make them worse…..enuff said.

  • MerlinMedic

No EMS. When will we get the word out about EMS? I know EMS was present — 5 officers were taken to the hospital. They didn’t go on a fire truck nor on a horse.

    • Ron04

      valid point…..

  • Mic

The dark and evil days of obama and his fellow degenerate subversives are done

  • Jessica MissChievous Lund

He’s doing an amazing job so far,But what about Georgia and and other places down south suffering from dang near total devastation and multiple deaths from tornados,What are His plans on that? I haven’t heard one word?

  • Peg Alexis

In my heart I believe President Trump & Vice-President Pence will always back the blue and they have always had respect for our brothers & sisters in blue along with our military. God Bless you both and may He keep you safe.

  • financial terrorism

I notice he’s not putting police in charge of anything, just bankers. He just “destroyed” Dodd-Frank which was helping to stop another financial crisis that had gutted police pensions for years. Trumps really “good friends” at Goldman and Bain capital are using scare tactics and lavishly funded PR campaigns to cast teachers, firefighters and cops – not bankers – as the budget-devouring boogeymen responsible for the mounting fiscal problems of America’s states and cities. But great that they get tea and cookies and handshakes. Super support for the types of folks they will expect to ignore their morality and handcuff 5 year olds at the airport in the future.
