KFC Employee Threatened to Spit in Cop’s Food
KFC Employee Threatened to Spit in Cop’s Food.
Sullivan, Missouri – A KFC worker saw a Franklin County Deputy in the drive-thru line, and rather than thank this hero for serving his community, the worker said that he was going to spit in the deputy’s food.
Sheriff Deputies in Franklin County, Missouri have been slowly winning a battle against meth labs spattering their rural landscape. Known as the mecca for meth production in a state labeled as the “meth capital of the world”, they have been fighting these tweakers for nearly 20 years.
Their hard work has paid off. They have seen a recent and steady decline in meth production. Thanks to the men and women of the Franklin County Sheriffs Department, Missouri has slipped to number 5 in the U.S. for production of the illicit drug. Their tactics have even been featured on 60 Minutes and Investigation Discovery. There is no doubt that their efforts are saving lives, families, and reducing crime in Missouri.
And how does this local restaurant worker show their gratitude? They offer to spit in the deputy’s food.
Luckily, the deputy heard the comment before receiving any food and opted for other options. Although the employee was eventually fired, the entire interaction, even from the corporate end, does not sit well.
The incident became public when the deputy took to Facebook to alert fellow officers. His warning spread (while protecting his identity), and recently caught our attention. The officer reported hearing the employee through the open back door saying, “Oh ****, it’s a cop. Someone let me know which order is his so I can spit in all of his food”. Wisely the deputy ducked out of line and spoke to a manager.
The manager responded by stating the employee in question would not be the one preparing his food, but also did not offer any apology. The manager hardly showed any compassion for her customer, much less a deputy sworn to protect their establishment.
Local media source, KMOV in St Louis, received the following statement from KFC: “KFC’s policy is to treat everyone fairly, equally and with respect, and we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind. Upon learning of this incident, the franchisee who owns the restaurant conducted an immediate and thorough investigation, and the employee was terminated.”
Well, then, it’s settled. They are sorry for the….wait….still no apology? Maybe some props for the job the boys do in Franklin County? Nothing?! Not even from corporate?!
If you are like us, you are outraged by KFC refusing to provide the level of service, assurance, respect, or apologies that the men and women of the Franklin County Sheriffs Department deserve. If you’d like to drop KFC a line on Facebook, I’m sure they’d love to hear from you.
