Times Journalist India Knight Calls for Assassination of President Trump
India Knight Makes Trump Assassination Tweet
The Sunday Times journalist India Knight has called for the assassination of President Donald Trump.
India Knight tweeted on Saturday, January 27, 2017 at 7:25 PM, “The assassination is taking such a long time.”
Although she didn’t specifically mention President Trump, it is apparent from the wording and the responses that he is clearly who she is referring to. The Sunday Times is the largest-selling British national newspaper, according to its web site.
Knight has been on a days-long rant against President Trump on Twitter, referring to him as “a moron”, “mad”, “needy”, and “an arse” among other things. She then told him to “shut up” in a tweet. And then called for him to be assassinated.
It’s very obvious that she is referring to the President because that has been her non-stop topic pretty much since the Inauguration. She has also started a petition on Twitter to prevent President Trump from making a state visit to the United Kingdom (dated January 28, 2017).
Her attitude is in keeping with much of the British media, many of whom she has encouraged over the past few days.
While watching a recent press conference held by President Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May, which announced the beginning of a special relationship between the two countries, Knight retweeted a political post from another media source that implied that the “American Secret Service was so incompetent that they were unable to understand the typical British way of converting dates into numerical format. In a tweet, Jim Waterson, Buzzfeed’s political editor, said on January 27, 2017, “British press corp is locked outside the White House because our birthdates were submitted in UK format and secret service don’t get it.”
Knight’s criminal actions and irresponsibility did not go over well with social media users. Many responded to her vitriolic tweet, calling her “a horrible person” and a “psychopath” for wishing death on anyone. One response said that she was “typical” of tolerant liberals. Other responses noted that they had reported Knight’s tweet to Twitter. Knight has since deleted the tweet saying “Right, I have deleted the offending tweet.”
Her comments came days after a German newspaper editor mentioned on television that “murder” in the White House could be a solution to “the Trump catastrophe.”
