Confirmed: Las Vegas Officer Stops Trump Assassination
Here’s an update to our previous story about a man who attempted to take a Las Vegas Metro Officer’s gun at a Trump rally. It has been confirmed that the suspect, Michael Sandford, admitted that the reason that he tried to disarm the officer was so he could kill Trump.
Sandford also admitted that he had a backup plan. Sandford advised that he had booked tickets for a Trump rally in Phoenix and that he was planning to kill Trump there. Sandford added that he had been planning for about a year to kill Trump. He also stated that if he were released tomorrow, he would try to kill Trump again.
Sandford is apparently originally from the United Kingdom, and had only been in the US for about a year and a half; he lived in both New Jersey and California.
Sandford couldn’t get much gun practice in the UK though, so prior to his assassination attempt, Sandford decided to do some serious training. Sandford went to a range in Las Vegas where an instructor showed him how to use a Glock 9mm pistol, and Sandford fired a whopping 20 rounds.
Armed with his newfound expert firearm knowledge, but no gun, Sandford set forth on his quest to assassinate Trump. The metal detectors at the entrance would have prevented Sandford from bringing his own gun, so he hatched the brilliant plan to simply take a gun from an officer. How hard could it be, right? And he would have gotten away for it to if it weren’t for those meddling officers.
Sandford is now being held on no bail and charged in federal court with an act of violence on restricted grounds. There’s no word yet on if he will be receiving pro-bono attorney services from Hillary supporters.
