Black Lives Matter Blocks Pride Parades Over Involvement Of Police And Jews
Black Lives Matter Demands That Gay People Conform To Their Beliefs
Black Lives Matters instigators blocked multiple pride parades across the nation over protests about police. In at least one city, they formed their own march and prohibited pride flags which displayed a Star of David.
At the 2017 Seattle Pride Parade on Sunday, Black Lives Matter protesters blocked the road in protest of the death of Charleena Lyles, according to Q13Fox.
Seattle police officers shot Lyles on June 19 after she had called them saying that she wanted to report a burglary. She had an ‘officer safety’ bulletin associated with her name, and had been arrested 26 times in the past, so two officers responded. After starting a calm conversation with the officers in her residence, Lyles pulled a knife and advanced on the officer, prompting them to shoot her.
After she was shot, Lyles, age 30, was transported to a local hospital where she died. Her death has caused outrage that the officers failed to “deescalate” within the moments that Lyles suddenly pulled a knife out of nowhere without provocation.
The Black Lives Matters protesters blocked the road for one minute of every year that Lyles was alive. They were part of the national ‘No Justice, No Pride’ group, which sent a statement to Seattle Gay Scene about their purpose.
In Chicago, the Dyke March was created as an alternative to the city’s main pride parade, with organizers saying that it focused too much on men so they made an alternate “more inclusive” march. The female-focused march attracted Black Lives Matter to become involved in the organization.
Black Lives Matter is ostensibly about police killing black males, but their platform actually focuses mostly on feminism, communism, and gay rights, with little to no mention of males.
It’s not just police that the group opposes, Black Lives Matter is anti-Semitic.
Jewish people celebrating at the Dyke March were told that flags featuring the Jewish Star of David were banned, and anybody carrying such a flag was removed from the march, according to Newsweek.
“They were telling me to leave because my flag was a trigger to people that they found offensive,” one Jewish attendee told Windy City Times. “Prior to this [march] I had never been harassed or asked to leave and I had always carried the flag with me.”
Black Lives Matter groups in Chicago went even further by shutting down the main pride parade. Black Transgender Gender Non-Conforming Collective, Black Lives Matter Chicago, Jewish Voice for Peace, Assata’s Daughters, and Pilsen Alliance all blocked the parade for 15 minutes while shouting insults at police officers, according to DNAinfo.
The Black Lives Matter affiliated organizers said that the march was pro-Palestinian and anti-Zionist.
Black Lives Matter has been expanding from the false narrative about racist police trying to murder black men to a narrative that the police also victimize gay people. With no noteworthy incidents of police using force against gay people, their claims have been largely ignored.
In Vancouver, the Vancouver Pride Society’s march allowed police to walk in their parade. The police involvement was unacceptable to Black Lives Matter, who then formed their own “more inclusive” march, by banning police.
Do you think that Black Lives Matter will be successful in co-opting gay pride events to their anti-police, anti-Semitic platform? We’d like to hear what you think. Please let us know in the comments.
