Two Officers Shot In New Haven ‘Active Shooter’
New Haven, CT – Two police officers have been shot Saturday in New Haven in what is being called an active shooter. The shooter has also shot a female citizen.
The incident is ongoing at 642 Elm St, according to New Haven Register.
The incident came in as a shooting and the officers were shot after arriving. The shooter is barricaded in a residence.
The officers have been identified as Eric Pasino and Scott Shumway and were each shot once in their arms.
SWAT has now surrounded the house and a stnadoff is underway.
“Right now, this is a very active scene,” Officer David Hartman said. “We believe the gunman is still inside the house.”
“We are urging — we are demanding — that people stay away. It’s going to be a very unpleasant encounter,” Officer Hartman added.

UPDATE: The suspect, John Douglas Monroe, 51, engaged officers, pointing a long gun at him. Officers responded by shooting him down. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition. His female victim was shot 4 times and is in critical condition.
